Use Your Smartphone to Schedule Home Maintenance Tasks

This alone keeps my home(and car) maintenance stress to an absolute minimum. Most of us have cell phones and tablets that have a calendar built into them. You can easily create tasks and have them repeat yearly, monthly, or weekly. Set the alarm and forget about it! When it’s time for that task to be done, the alarm on your phone will prompt you. No long lists, or marking paper calendars over and over. You put it in your phone calendar once and it’s always there.
Use this for everything from reminding you to change the furnace filter, to checking smoke detector batteries, to disconnecting your garden hose before winter.
